Important COVID-19 Update
We hope this finds you doing well. The last 14 months have been some of the most difficult months we have faced due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Throughout this time, you have done an amazing job keeping our community safe and healthy by loving your neighbor in some incredible ways. Thank you for still being CHURCH!
We’re encouraged by the CDC’s recent announcement that vaccinated people can go without wearing masks in most indoor and all outdoor situations. This marks a significant and positive shift in our country since the beginning of the pandemic. Your In-Person Return Task Force (IPR-TF) met this week to discuss the CDC’s most recent announcement.

Retreating
I will be on retreat beginning Feb 8-14. Our retreat is virtual this year, but we will still worship with each other, learn from each other, laugh and cry, be silly and sassy with each other, and share in silence for 24 hours with each other (I know, it is still shocking to me that I can do this).

Created for Goodness
Y'all,
This week was a hard week. There was so much news that consumed our TVs, radios, social media feeds and conversations. The news was ongoing as we heard and saw the attack at our capital. The scenes were heartbreaking. You’ve seen the pictures; you’ve heard the stories.
Friends, I believe that humanity broke God’s heart this week. Many of y’all reached out with your deep longings, big questions and earnest desires to make the world better. I too, want to make the world better. And I really believe we can.

Crossing Rivers
Beloved Saguaro,
I continue to give God gratitude for the faith that we share together even during these unprecedented moments. As we say in Kentucky, this year has been something. I am humbled by the courage, compassion and creativity of our church during this season of life. It gives me such hope for Saguaro in the future as a vaccine is within sight. It reminds me of the story of Moses as he came upon the river Jordan after such a long, difficult time in the wilderness.
But…I need to talk about the future with you. Like Moses, I will not be crossing with you into the promised land of 2021 and beyond.
