This documentary highlights the individual experiences of LGBTQI+ families who, in the face of discriminatory laws and rising hostility, are attempting to establish lives in their communities.
Compulsive storyteller Melinda Maerker has consistently worked across visual media—from advertising to documentaries. Her documentary, “We Live Here: The Midwest,” about LGBTQ families, is a Hulu original. Melinda is a graduate of Barnard College at Columbia University and the recipient of a James Michener Fellowship in Screenwriting. And while she grew up in the Southwest and spent several years living in New York City and France, she now resides in Los Angeles with her artist partner and three (mostly) adorable rescue dogs.
