I’m a multi-generational Arizonan. My mother’s ranching family settled nearby in the late 1800’s. Tucson has always been my home base, although as a government service brat, I lived in five southwestern states while growing up. I’m a quantum theory geek. I can’t sing anything on key, not even “Happy Birthday.” I’m a big fan of Fran’s favorite t-shirt artist and a fan of Fran, too. I’m also a big believer in the power of gratitude.

We had a super fun day planning our August sermon and Quail hour series. Delicious food, lots of laughs, really great deep thoughts, and an intentionality to see the Holy everywhere. Many thanks to the amazing Bethany and Andrea for their creativity and thoughtfulness.

On Sundays after worship!

1. This hour is offered after worship on Sundays in the Quail Room.

2. It will be an opportunity to exercise our speckled plume topnotch thinking.

3. Equip us to sing with a distinctive call into the world

4. Encourage fascinating adaptability by aiding us in living and loving with tenacity.

We continue to collect food and items to help our neighbors. Please bring the items to the narthex and place them in the corresponding bins. Thank you for caring!

All ages can serve as an elder!

From Elder Chair, Susan Keenan:

What is an elder? As an elder you are called to be teacher, shepherd, and church leader. I love the use of “Give Care” so I’ll use it to really explain what an elder does.

An Elder gives care when they welcome newcomers on Sunday, listen to the concerns of a member, or visit someone who is sick. An Elder gives care when they actively pray with a member of the church, or keep that person in their prayers. An Elder gives care when they serve communion or lead the prayers of the people during service. An Elder gives care when they reach out to our ministers and make sure they are being served.

We need a group of people who give care.

We will meet on April 23 at 4:30 in the sanctuary. Whether you're a returning Elder, a non-serving Elder, or someone who is interested in finding out more about this amazing group, please come to the meeting.

Members of Saguaro Christian Church or another Tucson-area Disciples of Christ church are eligible to be considered for a Brady scholarship, as well as applicants who are recommended by a Saguaro CC member.

On March 21, Saguaro will co-sponsor TIHAN’s monthly lunch with Southside Presbyterian, St. Michael’s Episcopal, and All Angels Episcopal. All of us can help! Shop for donations, decorate grocery bags, create centerpieces, or volunteer in-person!

All donations must be received no later than March 17 and can be brought to church on Sundays and throughout the week. 

Our Poz Café coordinator at Saguaro is Terry Bagwell and she will answer your questions and keep track of commitments.
