Saguaro's Community Water Station
Saguaro Christian Church has upgraded its styrofoam cooler cold-water cooler station to a Community Water Station, courtesy of Community on Wheels and Community Care Tucson. Community Water Stations provide publicly accessible drinking water to anyone who needs it. Stations are hosted primarily outside of privately owned locations that are open to the public and are strategically placed to serve vulnerable Tucsonans who struggle to stay hydrated in the desert heat.
Saguaro is the first church in Tucson to host a station. It is also the farthest east water station in Tucson.
If you would like to help with this water station, we have need of reuseable drink containers! If you have any lying around your house or taking up valuable cabinet space that you wish you could use for other things, feel free to drop it off at the water station. There are paper cups available but if folks can take a reuseable cup each time they come by it will reduce waste.
