Lent 2022

Lent is a season in the church calendar of 40 days, not counting Sundays, which begins on Ash Wednesday (March 2, 2022) and ends on the Saturday before Easter (April 16, 2022) .

The 40 days represent the time Jesus spent in the wilderness, enduring the temptation as he reflected on what was to come. Lent is a time of repentance, fasting and preparation for the coming of Easter. It’s a time of self-examination and reflection. We focus more intently on our relationship with God. Some choose to give up something, others choose to take on something, but for many people, myself included, this is a time of intentionality. We prepare for Lent by acknowledging, and reflecting on what's to come.
